Mountain Day

Buena Vista Mountain Day

Every October, on the second Saturday, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the City of Buena Vista is the location for Mountain Day, an annual celebration of the culture, traditions, history and natural
beauty of our area , the surrounding mountains and Shenandoah Valley. It is held in downtown Buena Vista on Magnolia Avenue between 20th & 22nd Streets. The festival focuses on the traditional “lost arts,” with live skill demonstrations and informational displays related to ournatural heritage, traditions and culture, as well as arts & crafts, continuous live music and
entertainment (on 2 stages), living history interpreters, children’s activities, storytelling, pony rides, Native American dancers, antique farm machinery, a classic car show, the annual “Lucky Duck” contest, food, fun, and much more. The location, promotion, and activities provide a great showcase for vendors and a festive and fun atmosphere for festival visitors. Last year’s event was a huge success, attended by several thousand people. This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better. Admission is free. Who wouldn’t want to be here? Proceeds support community improvement and revitalization efforts.
